It's the 2022 Middle School Summer Reading List for Incoming Classes 4-7!
Here you will find 44 books all hand-picked by us for their fascinating characters, gorgeous writing, important themes, and overall excellence. Unlike previous summer reading lists that were organized by genre, this year's list is just alphabetical by author. Middle School is all about breaking out of boxes, and we think the same can be said about books. We are encouraging you to read adventurously and decide for yourself what you're interested in!
All Middle School students are requested to read a minimum of 3 books over the summer, with at least 2 of those books coming from this Summer Reading List. Hopefully the books we've selected will inspire you and help us turn them into viral, community-wide hits next September. Viral in a good way, get it?
In an effort to ensure access, a number of these titles have can be accessed as eBooks or audiobooks through Sora. If you do not know your Chapin library number for accessing Sora, simply send an email to Ms. Lucy Davis (ldavis [at] chapin.edu). If you have never used Sora before, this video will walk you through connecting with public libraries, Chapin's collection, as Chapin's consortium, the Hudson Valley Librarian Association.
