Class 12: A More Beautiful Question

Welcome to the research guide for A More Beautiful Question!

Linked throughout are resources that will help you as you move through the research process, develop and re-frame your questions, and prepare your analyses and arguments.

Use the tabs up at the top to explore different topics and lenses of approach.

As you begin, please also consider the highly scientific artistic rendering of "success" by Demetri Martin. This also applies to the research process.

Home & Off-Campus Access

In order to access any of the library's digital resources from off-campus, you will need your library number. If you have forgotten your library number, simply send an email to Ms. Oldham.

Do we have eBooks? What about journal articles?

We do!

Here is the link to our scholarly eBook database: ProQuest eBook Central.

You can also see the complete list of databases here: Databases and Resources: A to Z. Play with the "Subject" and "Source Type" drop-down menus at the top of the page to filter.

The subject-specific tabs on this page will also link to a tailored list of resources.

I ran into a paywall for an article! What do I do?

First, look for it in the database ProQuest Central Student, which has all sorts of popular and scholarly press articles in it (including the Washington Post, Economist, Wall Street Journal, and more). If it's not in there, please send an email to Ms. Oldham and she will look for it through inter-library loan (ILL).

I have all this research / some research / no research whatsoever and have no idea what to do next.

You need a research consultation! Get in touch with Ms. Oldham for help over email or to set up a Zoom session. The library may be digital now, but you should still always leave feeling better and more prepared than how you came in.
