Class 9: Art of the Renaissance and Reformation

Welcome to the Class 9 research guide for Art of the Renaissance and Reformation!

Linked throughout are resources that will help you as you move through the research process.

Remember, when researching art, you are always researching more than just a work and the person(s) who created it–you need to think about the culture and society that that artwork came from. What was life like during this time? What were the big issues? What did people care about? This is where reference sources (and a good topic vocabulary of broader, narrower, and related terms) can be very helpful! You can start to learn about the values of a particular culture by searching for things like "Renaissance culture" or "Protestant society."
