  1. Select "File, app, or eBook" and then "Standalone File"

  2. In the "Type of file/software/app" box, put "Class Handout, [Name of the class]"

  3. List the teacher as "Author" and the title of the handout as the "Title of the document." If a specific author is listed on the handout, put that name instead of your teacher's name.

  4. In "Date Written/Created" put in the class term and year.


APA Style Example:

Hirsch, J. (Fall 2021). Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Handwashing but Were Afraid to Ask. [Class Handout, Introduction to Public Health].


Chicago Style Example:

Ms. Tartaglia. "Vietnam War: Who's Who." Last modified Spring 2024. Class Handout, Class 10 History.


MLA Style Example:

Mr. Silverman. "The Odyssey: Who's Who." Winter 2023. Class Handout, Class 9 English.

  1. Choose "Print or In-Hand" and select "Anthology/Collection"

  2. In the "Story, Essay, Poem, Longer Work" section, list the original author, title of the section, and publication year (if supplied)

  3. In the "Anthology/Collection" section, put in the page number(s) of the excerpt for the course pack (not any original page numbers)

  4. List the teacher as "Author" and the title of the course pack as the "Title of anthology"

  5. "Publisher" is The Chapin School and "Year" is the Class Term and Year


APA Style Example:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (Fall 2021). When and How to Wash Your Hands. In Hirsch, J. (Author), Introduction to Public Health Course Pack (p. 2). (Original work published in 2019).


Chicago Style Example:
